#1163 · state_flag
Historical flag of Georgia used from 1902 to 1906, featuring a vertical blue hoist panel with the state arms in gold and red-white-red horizontal stripes on the fly.
Georgia used this state flag from 1902 to 1906. It modified the earlier Stars and Bars-derived design by placing the state coat of arms on the full-height blue hoist panel. The arms, derived from the state seal adopted in 1799, feature an arch symbolizing the constitution, three pillars representing the legislative, executive, and judicial branches, and the motto “Wisdom, Justice, Moderation.”
