Zambia

The flag of Zambia was adopted on 24 October 1964 when the country became independent, and it was modified in 1996 with a slightly lighter shade of green. The green field symbolizes the nation’s vegetation and agricultural wealth, the red stands for the struggle for freedom, the black represents the people of Zambia and black Africans, and the orange refers to mineral wealth, especially copper. The orange African fish eagle represents the ability to rise above the nation’s challenges.
