History
Split-Dalmatia County adopted this flag on 12 December 1995. The design was created by Heraldic Art d.o.o. of Rijeka. Its blue and gold colors echo the historic Dalmatian arms, while the central emblem shows the Crown of Zvonimir, a stylized royal crown derived from an 11th-century engraving associated with King Demetrius Zvonimir in Split. The design omits the traditional three leopard heads of Dalmatia in favor of a modern regional interpretation.
