History

Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County is a county in northeastern Hungary. Its county flag uses the county coat of arms as the central emblem. The present county flag was officially adopted in 1990 following post-communist administrative reforms, while the coat of arms derives from heraldic designs developed after the 1867 Austro-Hungarian Compromise.
