History
Istria County adopted this flag in 2001. The centered coat of arms features a golden goat on a blue shield, a symbol associated with Istria since Roman times and later used in medieval heraldry. The light blue symbolizes the Istrian sky, while green represents the region’s hills and landscape. The design follows the modern Croatian county flag practice of using a simple two-colored field with the county arms.
