History
The flag is the official symbol of Podkarpackie Voivodeship in southeastern Poland. It was adopted on 23 November 2000, after the voivodeship's coat of arms was established on 28 August 2000. Its design follows Polish regional flag conventions, using a 5:8 proportion, simple vertical stripes, and heraldic imagery representing the historic traditions of Lesser Poland and Red Ruthenia.
