Flag of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in Poland, showing a golden field with a central black Silesian eagle bearing a white crescent and cross.
The flag represents the Lower Silesian Voivodeship of Poland. Its central emblem is the Silesian eagle, a heraldic motif inherited from the medieval Piast dukes of Silesia. The eagle’s crescent and cross of Lorraine are longstanding regional symbols associated with the historic identity and sovereignty of Silesia. The modern voivodeship flag was officially adopted on 17 November 2002.
