Tuzla Canton

The flag of Tuzla Canton was established by the Law on the Symbols of Tuzla Canton, adopted on 31 December 1999, promulgated on 19 January 2000, and published on 10 February 2000. Its blue field matches the blue used in the cantonal coat of arms. The shield’s fields symbolize the sky, vegetated topsoil, coal deposits, and salt, the latter reflecting the origin of the name Tuzla from the Turkish word “tuz,” meaning “salt.”
