History
The flag of Negeri Sembilan was officially adopted in 1949 after a design competition won by state architect Mohamed Hamzah. Its colors carry specific meanings: red symbolizes bravery and the spirit of the people, black represents the royal lineage of the Yang Di-Pertuan Besar, and yellow denotes the sovereign and Minangkabau heritage.
