History
This commemorative flag was unveiled in 2021 for Utah’s 125th anniversary. The gold beehive represents the Beehive State and the motto “Industry,” while the white star honors Utah as the 45th state. The crossing triangular field refers to Utah as the “Crossroads of the West” and commemorates the joining of the Transcontinental Railroad at Promontory Point. Its orange-gold, white, and blue palette symbolizes red rocks, snowy mountains, and sky, and the design helped shape the later development of Utah’s modern state flag.
