History
The Alabama Centennial flag was created in 1919 by Mrs. Idyl King Sorsby to mark the hundredth anniversary of Alabama’s admission to the Union. It retained the state’s crimson St. Andrew’s saltire on a white field as its base design and served as a commemorative historic variant used during centennial observances and ceremonies.
