Côte d'Ivoire

Côte d'Ivoire adopted this flag on 3 December 1959. Its 2:3 design uses three equal vertical bands of orange, white, and green and has remained unchanged since adoption. Orange represents the northern savanna and national dynamism and progress, white symbolizes peace, purity, and unity, and green represents the southern forests and hope for a prosperous future. The vertical format reflects the influence of the French tricolor while using a distinct national color scheme.
