Ajman uses a white-red halved flag design associated with the Trucial States. The pattern dates to the early 19th century, when British classification distinguished this design as a separate Trucial Coast type. The red is associated with courage and defense, while the white represents peace and purity. The same basic design was retained after the formation of the United Arab Emirates and remains in use as Ajman’s flag.
