History
Alba Iulia is a municipality in Romania. Its municipal flag uses the city coat of arms on a white field and was formally adopted by the Alba Iulia City Council in 2004 as part of the regulation of the city’s official heraldic symbols. The white field symbolizes peace and unity, while the heraldic elements refer to Alba Iulia’s history and identity, including its association with the 1918 union of Transylvania with Romania.
