History
Chiesanuova is one of the nine Castelli of San Marino. Its municipal symbol features a red ostrich feather on a white shield against blue, a heraldic motif associated with Sammarinese tradition and linked to the idea of penna and the Apennine setting. The banner was formalized with the other Castelli symbols during the standardization of San Marino’s municipal emblems in the mid-19th century.
