The flag of Karakalpakstan features horizontal blue, yellow, and green bands separated by thin white and red stripes, with a white crescent and five white stars in the upper hoist.
The flag of Karakalpakstan was adopted on 10 April 1993. It uses three principal horizontal bands with narrow white and red fimbriations and displays a crescent moon with five stars in the canton. The crescent represents Turkic-Islamic heritage, while the five stars symbolize five historic tribal groups and broader aspirations. The blue band refers to the waters of the Aral Sea, the yellow band to the desert steppe and resilience, and the green band to agriculture and a fertile future. The white and red stripes signify peace and blood shed for autonomy. The design replaced Soviet-era flags used from 1934 to 1992.
