The flag of the Solomon Islands is divided diagonally by a yellow stripe, with a blue upper triangle bearing five white stars and a green lower triangle.
The national flag of the Solomon Islands was adopted on 18 November 1977, before independence. Its colors symbolize the country’s environment: blue for the Pacific Ocean, rivers, and rain, green for the land, and yellow for the sun’s rays dividing land and sea. The five stars originally represented the five administrative districts at the time and were retained after later provincial reorganization.
