History
The Indiana Bicentennial Flag was unveiled in 2015 for the celebration of Indiana’s 200th year of statehood in 2016. Its imagery draws on the Indiana state flag designed by Paul Hadley and adopted in 1917, especially the torch and stars associated with liberty, knowledge, progress, and Indiana’s place as the nineteenth state. Bicentennial-themed versions were distributed across the state during the anniversary observance.
