History
The flag of Taitung County was officially adopted in 2014. Its design follows a common Taiwanese sub-national pattern of placing a distinctive local emblem on a plain field. The green version of the county flag uses a field symbolizing Taitung’s forests, farmland, and natural environment, while the central emblem represents the county’s coastline, mountains, maritime character, indigenous heritage, and local vitality.
