History

The flag of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County was officially adopted on 25 June 1999. It consists of a white field with red and blue wolf-tooth motifs and the county coat of arms at the center. The white field symbolizes peace and unity, while the red and blue elements recall the traditional colours of the historic Szabolcs, Szatmár, and Bereg territories and connect the modern county to its heraldic heritage.
