History
This flag was used in Western Herzegovina in 1760. It was associated with Bosniak landlords of the region. The green field signified Islam and Bosniak heritage, while the white crescent and star expressed Islamic faith and guidance. The design continued to serve as a regional and cultural symbol in later conflicts and revolts.
