History
This historic Vermont flag design used a striped layout resembling the United States flag but added the state coat of arms within a large white star in the canton. It was later replaced because of its similarity to the national flag. The design belongs to an earlier phase of Vermont state flag history before the adoption of the current blue flag with the state coat of arms.
