White flag with three blue rounded hills rising from the base and three red flames above them, forming the banner of arms of Västmanland County in Sweden.
This flag is the banner of arms of Västmanland County. The arms were granted in 1560 and revised for the county on 30 June 1943. The burning mountains symbolize the region’s historic mining tradition; the design originally referred to the silver mine at Sala and later came to represent the mines of Sala, Lindesberg, and Norberg or Skinnskatteberg.
