History
The seal of Sukhothai Province depicts King Ram Khamhaeng the Great seated on the Managkhasila-asana throne. The emblem refers to Sukhothai’s importance in Thai history as the center of the Sukhothai Kingdom and its association with the origin of Thai script and the early development of Theravada Buddhism in the region.
