Flag of Ranong Province, Thailand, with a green hoist panel bearing the provincial emblem and seven horizontal yellow and orange stripes on the fly.
The provincial flag of Ranong developed from the broader introduction of Thai provincial flags in 1942. Its current form, combining a green hoist panel with the provincial emblem and a field of alternating yellow and orange stripes, was refined during the 1960s and formally adopted in the early 2000s as part of the modernization of provincial symbols. The emblem represents historic fortifications and the province’s mist-covered mountainous landscape, while yellow signifies fertile land, sunshine, and prosperity, and orange refers to the sea, fisheries, and hot springs associated with Ranong.
