Småland

Småland is a historic province of Sweden. A provincial flag associated with Småland emerged in popular use during the early 20th century as a civic emblem of regional identity. The province’s heraldic tradition dates to the 1560s, when a coat of arms featuring three crowned red lions on a golden shield was granted under Gustav Vasa.
