Flag of Perm Krai, a white cross on red and blue quartered fields with the regional coat of arms at the center.
The flag of Perm Krai was adopted on 6 May 2003 in a 2:3 proportion. It originated as the flag of Perm Oblast and remained in use after the 2004 merger of Perm Oblast with Komi-Permyak Autonomous Okrug to form Perm Krai. The white symbolizes peace, virtue, and purity of thought; blue represents beauty, warmth of human relations, and the region’s abundant waters; red signifies courage, bravery, and fearlessness. Together the colors echo the national colors of Russia.
