Blue naval jack of the United States bearing thirteen white five-pointed stars arranged in a staggered pattern.
The naval jack of the United States from 1777 to 1795 was the Union Jack, using a blue field with thirteen white stars representing the original thirteen states. Its arrangement mirrored the canton of the 1777 United States flag. Officially adopted following the Flag Resolution of 14 June 1777, it served as the maritime jack of the United States until 1 May 1795, when it was replaced after the adoption of the fifteen-star flag.
