Flag of Sükhbaatar Aimag, Mongolia, with a red field, a wide blue horizontal band, a swallowtail fly, and a detailed emblem near the upper hoist.
The flag represents Sükhbaatar Aimag in eastern Mongolia. Its red field is associated with the revolutionary legacy of Damdin Sükhbaatar and sacrifice for independence. The central emblem is derived from the aimag’s coat of arms, centered on a stylized horse that reflects the province’s nomadic heritage, strength, and the importance of livestock. Blue and white elements in the emblem symbolize the eternal sky and pure water of the steppe. The design was adopted in the early 1990s during the post-socialist standardization of Mongolian aimag flags and has remained in use since.
