Flag of Govisümber Aimag featuring a green field with a wide central blue vertical panel, stylized red mountain forms near the top, and two circular discs above them.
The flag of Govisümber Aimag was adopted in the mid-1990s after Mongolia’s democratic transition. Its light-blue field represents the Eternal Blue Sky, while the central white horse head emblem symbolizes nomadic culture and the importance of horse-riding. A yellow vertical stripe at the hoist and a thin red stripe at the fly represent the grasslands, agricultural wealth, historic ties to the Mongol Empire, and ancestral courage. A yellow sun with twelve rays above the horse stands for the aimag’s twelve sums.
