History
The flag of Altai Krai was officially adopted in the early 2000s as part of the region’s post-Soviet symbols. Its light-blue field symbolizes the clear sky, rivers, and natural beauty, while the red field represents courage, historical struggle, and the vitality of the people. The wheat motif reflects the importance of agriculture and the fertility of the land. Its red-and-blue color scheme echoes the historic pattern of the former Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic.
