The flag of Dornod Aimag was adopted in 2001. The aimag’s emblem combines a stylized horse with the Soyombo symbol, expressing nomadic heritage, the region’s role as a crossroads of trade routes, and a connection to Mongolia’s national identity. The blue stripe symbolizes the Eternal Blue Sky, the white stripe purity and the vast steppe, and the red stripe the vitality and courage of the local people.
