Flag of Khentii aimag, a blue field with a central white ceremonial emblem outlined by a yellow ornamental border and the white Cyrillic name below.
The flag of Khentii aimag is a rectangular 1:2 banner with a blue field symbolizing the eternal Mongolian sky. Its central emblem depicts a stylized golden horse’s head crowned by a curved flame-like sun and enclosed by a traditional soyombo-type motif, expressing the province’s nomadic heritage, its association with Burkhan Khaldun and the traditional birthplace of Genghis Khan, and the cultural unity of the Mongol people. The design emerged in the early 1990s during the reorganization of regional symbols and was formally codified in 2003.
