History
The flag of Limburg is the banner of the provincial coat of arms of the Belgian province of Limburg. Its design draws on the heraldic lion of the former Duchy of Limburg, while the small striped shield recalls the historic arms associated with Limburg and symbolizes the province’s ten historic districts. The flag was formally adopted on 21 November 1995.
