History

The flag of Khovd Aimag has been in use since 2014. Its blue field represents the sky and the region’s many lakes, while the white stripe symbolizes the purity of rivers and the nomadic way of life. The design is a modern provincial banner intended to express Khovd’s natural geography and regional identity.
