History
The Capital Governorate of Bahrain does not use a distinct independent flag and is represented for official purposes by the national flag of Bahrain. The Bahraini national flag has a white hoist band and a larger red field divided by a serrated line of five white points, a design codified on 14 February 2002. The five points represent the Five Pillars of Islam; the white denotes peace and purity, and the red reflects historic regional tradition associated with Bahrain’s earlier red banners.
