Flag of Crimea, a horizontal tricolor with a thin blue stripe at the top, a broad white middle stripe, and a thin red stripe at the bottom.
The flag of Crimea was adopted on 24 September 1992 for the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. It was designed by A. Malgin and V. Trusov and later continued in use after being re-adopted by the Russian-administered Republic of Crimea on 4 June 2014. Its colors are associated with the Black Sea, purity and the snow-capped mountains of the peninsula, and the blood shed in Crimea’s defense.
