History
The flag of Bryansk Oblast was officially adopted on 5 November 1998 and has proportions of 2:3. Its burgundy field recalls the banners used by the Red Army and partisan fighters during the World War II liberation of the Bryansk region, while the centered coat of arms represents the oblast’s administrative identity.
