History
The flag of the Republic of Adygea was adopted on 24 March 1992 and revised to its current form on 7 June 2007. Its design is modeled on the historic Circassian flag. The green field represents nature and Islamic heritage, the twelve stars symbolize the twelve historic Adyghe tribes, and the three crossed arrows express unity and martial spirit. The 2007 revision removed a black stripe, changed it to gold, and adjusted the arrangement to more closely match the traditional Circassian design.
