History
The flag of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara was adopted on 20 July 2004 by the Supreme Council of Adjara. Its seven blue and white stripes represent the region, with the blue stripes symbolizing the Black Sea, the white stripes symbolizing purity, and the total of seven stripes reflecting Adjara’s seven administrative municipalities.
