History

Adopted in 2017, this flag represents the French administrative region of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, created by the 2016 merger of Burgundy and Franche-Comté. It is a banner of arms that combines the historic emblems of Burgundy Modern, Franche-Comté, and Burgundy Ancient to express the region’s dual heritage and administrative union.
