History
The flag of the United States Virgin Islands was adopted in 1921. Its design was created by Percival W. Sparks and drew inspiration from the coat of arms of the United States. The letters V and I stand for Virgin Islands. The three arrows represent Saint Thomas, Saint John, and Saint Croix, while the branch symbolizes peace.
