the Taliban

The Taliban’s banner is a white field bearing the Shahada in black Arabic script. According to the provided research memo, this design was introduced during the group’s rule from 1996 to 2001 and was reinstated when the Islamic Emirate returned to power in August 2021. The memo states that the white field symbolizes the purity of the Taliban’s faith and government, while the Shahada reflects a commitment to governance under Islamic law.
