The flag of Tatarstan is a horizontal tricolor with a green upper band, a narrow white stripe through the middle, and a red lower band.
The current flag of Tatarstan was adopted on 29 November 1991 and designed by Tawil Xaciäqmətov. It has a 1:2 proportion and consists of green and red horizontal bands separated by a narrow white stripe occupying one-fifteenth of the flag’s height. The colors symbolize spring and renewal, peace and concord, and vitality and resilience, reflecting the republic’s post-Soviet regional identity.
