Flag of Tanintharyi Region, Myanmar, with horizontal red, blue, and green stripes, a white star near the top, and a large golden naga across the center.
Tanintharyi Region adopted this flag on 30 September 2010, replacing an earlier dark-blue regional flag used from 1974 to 2010 that bore the region’s name. The flag’s red, blue, and green stripes symbolize courage and sacrifice, peace and the region’s maritime character, and the fertile land and natural wealth of the peninsula. The white star represents unity, hope, and a shared future among the region’s ethnic groups, while the naga represents the region’s indigenous Naga peoples.
