History
This was the municipal flag of Taichung from 1945 until 26 August 2025. It displayed the city name 「臺中市」 in red on a yellow field and remained in use through later administrative changes, including the merger with Taichung County. The design was widely criticized for relying on text and lacking distinctive symbolism before being replaced in 2025 by a new flag featuring the Mid-Lake Pavilion of Taichung Park.
