History
The flag of Keelung City was adopted by the municipal government in the early 1990s. Its blue ring symbolizes the surrounding sea and natural environment, the green form represents the hills on which the port city is built, and the white characters are rendered in the outline of a container ship to emphasize Keelung’s role as a major maritime hub.
