A blue provincial flag with the Southeast Sulawesi coat of arms centered on the field.
Southeast Sulawesi is an Indonesian province created in 1964. Its provincial flag follows the common Indonesian provincial pattern of a plain field charged with the official coat of arms in the center. The emblem’s symbolism includes red and green halves for bravery and fertile land, a blue wavy band for the surrounding seas, a gold five-pointed star for aspiration and national identity, and rice and cotton for prosperity and the agrarian-maritime economy.
