Flag of the South Bohemian Region, featuring a green lower field and a quartered upper section with a white lion, a rose, vertical stripes, and a walled three-towered castle.
The flag of the South Bohemian Region uses a green field to symbolize the region’s forests. Its central heraldic elements combine a Bohemian white lion for Bohemia, a red-on-gold rose associated with the historic Rozmberk family and the eastern part of the region, and two towers representing České Budějovice, the regional capital. The yellow and white vertical stripes symbolize the historic Golden Canal and the Vltava River.
