History
Carei's municipal flag is described as following the Romanian national tricolour tradition and using the town's coat of arms at the center. In Romanian flag symbolism, blue is associated with Moldavia, yellow with Wallachia, and red with the shared heritage of the historic principalities and the ideals of liberty, justice, and fraternity linked to the 1821 Wallachian uprising.
